Why do I need bike service if nothing seems broken?

Bike service is about making sure everything works flawlessly when you want to ride and, most importantly, that you can ride confidently. Waiting until something actually breaks is usually more expensive than regular preventive service, especially in Florida where heat, humidity, and salty air are very hard on bicycles.

What condition should my bike be in when I bring it for service?

Please be realistic about your bike’s condition and your budget. A dirty 3+ year-old bike that has not been maintained will almost always need more than a simple checkup or Economy Tune-Up. Often these bikes require extra parts and labor to bring them back to safe, reliable riding condition, and we will quote accordingly.

What qualifications do your bike technicians have?

Experience counts, but so does continuous factory certification training. Our technicians have over 13 years of actual professional mechanical experience, plus full certifications in major bike component systems from Shimano TEC and SRAM. We do not count years of casual riding as mechanical experience.

What service levels do you offer?

We offer multiple tune-up and repair levels depending on your needs—from basic cleaning and lubrication of moving parts to full tear-down and rebuild services. In addition to tune-up packages, we also perform a wide variety of problem-specific repairs such as brake, shifting, wheel, and bearing service.

How fast can you complete my bike service?

Our standard goal is a 72-hour turnaround on most services, as long as required parts are in stock. For riders who need their bike back quickly, we offer a 24-hour express service upgrade for an additional $50. Express service is subject to availability, so please call ahead to confirm.

How do you evaluate my bike and decide what service it needs?

When you bring in your bike we ask about any issues you have noticed, then quickly assess its overall condition, including tire wear and chain stretch. From there we recommend the appropriate service level. Once the bike is on the stand, we may find hidden wear or damage and will replace or repair what is needed using quality bike-shop parts, only calling for approval if something is unusually expensive.

Is there an extra charge for Shimano Di2 or SRAM AXS service?

Yes. Electronic shifting systems such as Shimano Di2 or SRAM AXS incur an additional service charge when we need to connect our diagnostic laptop for gear adjustments, firmware updates, and system checks. Diagnostic time for complex errors or problems may be billed separately.

We service and repair all major brands of bikes and Ebikes including Trek, Electra, Specialized, Giant, Fuji, Felt, Scott, Cannondale, Aventon, Lectric, Magnum bikes, Canyon, Bianchi, Pinarello, Colnago, Orbea, BMC, Cervelo, Surly, Marin, Jamis, plus many more. On a case by case basis we will also service some online brands that are of the higher quality. We do not service low end dept store bikes. Give us a call and ask.

Don’t be that person

Be very reasonable with your bikes condition and what your budget is. Please don’t bring in your dirty 3+ year old bike and ask for simple checkup or Economy Tune-Up. Quite often it needs more attention and parts, so please be prepared to spend what is required to bring it back to life.

We offer multiple main service levels

We offer multiple levels of service depending on your needs—from simple cleaning and lubrication to full breakdowns and complete rebuilds. We also provide a wide range of problem-specific repairs to address whatever issues your bike may have.

Our $70 Check-Up—includes a basic clean, chain lubrication service, two minor adjustments, and a full performance inspection. It’s the perfect option when your bike needs attention but not a full tune-up.

72-hr service turnaround 24-hr express

We respect that you got your bike to enjoy it. We do everything we can to get your bike completed in 72 hours, if we have to wait for parts, that would not apply. For an extra fee of $50.00 we also offer a 24-hour turnaround on most services. Please call beforehand to confirm our availability to expedite your service.

How often should I get my bike serviced?

For most bikes, we recommend an annual tuneup. Depending how many hours of riding time you put on your bike, service can range from every few months to every year. For most casual riders, a good rule of thumb is once a year. Service at this interval will keep you riding smoothly, efficiently and extend the life of your bike’s parts. Additionally, Florida’s humid and salty climate heavily affects your bike’s condition.

How we proceed with your service

You will be asked if they’re any issues or problems that you’re aware of. We will quickly access the overall condition including tire wear, and measure the bike chain for stretch. From there, we can decide which service is appropriate for your bike.

Very often they’re hidden worn out or damaged parts that we see once your bike is on the work stand. At this point we replace or repair what’s required (we don’t call to confirm we can proceed unless it’s quite expensive). You brought your bike to us to make it right; so that’s what we do. We are an honest shop and will never put excessively expensive parts on your bike or go over-the-top with your service. We replace only what is needed with bike shop quality parts at reasonable costs.
